Workshop or field

How many people will be involved in the construction of the facility?

The number of staff working directly to on the printer is 2 people (operator + worker responsible for mixtures). You need to consider with the foreman how many people will be required in addition. The objects can be very different whether you print a 2 sq.m. watchman's booth or a two-storey house with an area of 200 sq.m.

Is it possible to make a house in parts? How to assemble it later?

There are 2 approaches of construction production: field and workshop options. During workshop production, buildings are printed in parts with their subsequent assembly on the construction site. The first residential building in Europe, presented in Yaroslavl, we made this way.

Is it possible to work at sub-zero temperatures and high humidity, since we are located by the sea? Are there any domes, tents or something similar for work at subzero temperatures?

We recommend using our printers as workshop equipment, i.e. printing elements and parts of buildings and structures with subsequent assembly on the foundation.

That does not mean that the printer can't be installed on the foundation and print entire house. More and more customers resort to this, in our opinion, not very convenient way of printing.

If you print on the foundation, then precipitation and wind complicate the work. Therefore, you need to equip a tent. As for frost, we've printed in winter at a temperature of -7 °C with antifreeze additives.

The operating instructions of the equipment indicate:

  1. Operating temperature range: 0°C ÷+50 °C;
  2. Humidity: ≤60% non-condensing;

At the request of the client, we adapt printers for printing on the foundation. A sixth of all printers sold were ordered specifically for installation on the foundation.

Temperature range for system operation (printer, preparation). Are there additives for working at subzero temperatures or other materials? Consumption, storage conditions, etc.

According to the passport, all printers operate at temperatures from +5 to +30 °C. In Yekaterinburg our specialists printed at negative temperatures down to -7 °C using antifreeze additives. The consumption of such additives is in accordance with the technical regulations for additives.

We intend to build houses, so we need equipment for this purpose.

Most models of construction printers are suitable for this.

It should be borne in mind that there are 2 ways of house-building production:

  1. Workshop for printing elements (parts) of buildings and structures with subsequent assembly on the foundation. Advantages: clear organization of work, preparation of material for printing, printing, drying, shipping.

Then on-site assembly and pouring of ready-mixed concrete into the cavities of the walls. The most convenient printers for such production are S-6044 LONG and S-6044 LONG 2.

  1. Printing directly on the foundation. Disadvantages: it is necessary to close the printing area from precipitation and wind.

You need to select a printer according to the size of the house. Most often, this is the S-1160 printer in various modifications.

What are the requirements for a "field" version of a printer that can print all walls at once?

In the field you will have to deal with rain, wind and snow. Thus, you'll have to remove the control computer and hardware cabinet, or install a dome over the entire printer. And logistics costs have not been canceled. You will also have to carry mixtures in the field, store them indoors there, etc.

It's up to you.

What are the requirements for a mortar concrete unit?

There are no special requirements. Mortar concrete unit should prepare a mortar of the desired density in small portions of 30-50 kg, so that there is fresh material for printing all the time. Any mortar mixer is suitable for this.

What are the requirements for the printer installation site?

The printer prints on the foundation, i.e. the site must be prepared in advance. The equipment is installed directly on the foundation, or outside the perimeter by screw piles, or wall foundation blocks, then it's aligned.

What are the requirements for the site for installing the printer on the foundation?

The printer prints on a flat foundation, i.e. the site must be prepared in advance. The equipment is installed directly on the foundation, or outside the perimeter  by screw piles, then it's aligned. The support for the printer have to ensure the static structure and withstand a load of about 3 tons.

What are the temperature conditions of construction?

We have an experience of printing on the foundation at a temperature of -7 °C in winter with antifreeze additives. Theoretically, it is possible to print up to -25 °C, but is there any sense in such an extreme? In addition, precipitation and wind interfere you need to install a tent (greenhouse).

In our opinion, it is much more convenient to print elements and parts of buildings in the workshop with subsequent assembly on the foundation.

What is better: to build a house immediately on the site or in parts at the factory, and then mount it on the site?

All portal equipment that we produce is workshop equipment.

Regardless of the size of construction printers, they are designed to print elements and parts of buildings and structures for subsequent assembly on the foundation.

That does not mean that the printer can't be installed on the foundation and print entire house. More and more customers resort to this, in our opinion, not very convenient way of printing.

If you print on the foundation, then precipitation and wind complicate the work. Frost, by the way, is not a hindrance we've printed in winter at a temperature of -7 ° C in the Urals with antifreeze additives.

At the request of the client, we adapt printers for printing on the foundation. Every sixth of all printers sold is for installation on the foundation.

And yet, in our opinion, workshop production is more convenient a comprehensible and technological process.
